Senmaru & Yuki are performers of “Edo-Daikagura”.
“Edo” is an old name of Tokyo. “Daikagura” is very difficult to explain. Don’t worry. Don’t think. Feel!
Reportedly, the original purpose of Daikagura was to serve as a talisman for the people, chasing away evil on behalf of Jingu (the grand Shintoism shrines). Thus, Daikagura was originally a very sacred and serious performance.
Today, the performance has become people’s entertainment. Senmaru & Yuki wear “kimono” and perform Japanese traditional tricks.
Don’t blink. You won't want to miss a thing!
The show will be performed:
Saturday 18 August, 5:30pm & 7:30pm: Gurney Plaza (ground floor, near the Barn)
Sunday 19 August, 2:00pm & 7:00pm: Queensbay Mall (ground floor, south side entrance near Starbucks)
