Sharpen how you see, think about, and talk about contemporary art in “The Kung Yu 5 Checklist Workshop”, a focused three-hour workshop led by veteran Malaysian artist Liew Kung Yu.
Developed through decades of artistic practice and mentorship, the Kung Yu 5 Checklist is a practical, accessible tool for analysing and critiquing artworks with greater clarity and depth. Whether you’re a practicing artist, an art student, or simply passionate about visual culture, this workshop equips you with essential skills to navigate and articulate your experience of contemporary art.
Come with curiosity — leave with a checklist and a new way of seeing.
About The Artist
Liew Kung Yu has spent over three decades immersed in the visual arts — from his first solo exhibition in Penang to exhibiting his work in over 15 countries worldwide. In recent years, he has turned his attention to mentorship and arts education. Recognising the need for a structured yet approachable way to understand and evaluate contemporary artworks, he developed the Kung Yu 5 Checklist as a clear and flexible method that empowers artists, students, and enthusiasts alike with the tools they need to engage in thoughtful, evidence-based discourse about the visual arts.
