Description | Visual Art

A Real Fake Forest is a forest that is made from fallen trees, twigs and barks, complemented with trash or synthetics created by human beings. The idea is to integrate natural elements (real) and synthetics (fake) within an object, and through their stark contrasts portraying the adverse effects of human activities on the environment.

This exhibition by Tan Lay Heong aims to convey a powerful message about environmental degradation due to human actions, through sarcasm. Should human beings continue to invade nature through their enormous consumption, they will soon find the Mother Earth disappearing into their endless greed.
