Macam Macam Berapit is a community event aimed at making the arts accessible to people from all walks of life to witness and experience arts and culture. It features spectacular performances, including the drum circle by 1Drum, amazing acts by The Crafty Circus and a traditional Wayang Kulit theatre performance by the Wak Long Music and Art Centre.

Cahaya XR also makes an appearance with their interactive and immersive digital storytelling, using VR, AR and mixed reality to explore worlds imagined by children. The event wraps up with a vibrant performance by Culture Shot, a homegrown traditional-contemporary band, set to wow us with a lively atmosphere to end the day.

Macam Macam Berapit is presented by George Town Festival in collaboration with Pusat Khidmat KADUN Berapit.

About the Asia Pacific Youth Choir (APYC)

Formed in 2011, the Asia Pacific Youth Choir (APYC) brings talented young singers aged 18-28 from Asia Pacific together to be instruments of peace and understanding. This highly competitive program offers a week of intensive rehearsals and performances with prominent international choral conductors. APYC was selected as Ambassador for the International Federation for Choral Music (IFCM) for 2013, 2014 and 2015, and has established itself as one of the most remarkable musical and intercultural experiences for promising young musicians in the Asia Pacific region.
