Get Ready for French Movie Screening and Exhibitions at George Town Festival 2022!
Expect to discover and appreciate a different culture through the arts
George Town, Penang, Malaysia, 17 June 2022: Le French Film Festival (LFFF) is an annual event presented by Alliances Françaises in Kuala Lumpur and Penang and the Embassy of France in Malaysia. The annual event – one of the most vibrant symbols of the solid relationship that has been built between France and Malaysia since 1957 – showcases French films and offers exhibitions and activities for all Malaysians of all ages to get to know French culture through the arts and more.
This year, the LFFF in Penang will collaborate with the George Town Festival 2022 (GTF 2022) to present a movie screening and two exhibitions at the GTF 2022 this July. This collaboration aims to allow festival-goers to discover and appreciate a different culture through the arts, foster a spirit of valuing diversity, better understand French culture, and celebrate our cultural differences.
Festival-goers will be treated to “Ciné France at Cheah Kongsi”, an open-air night movie screening of the French movie “Dilili à Paris”, which will be held at a unique venue for a screening – the historic clan house of Cheah Kongsi in the George Town UNESCO World Heritage Site; “Le Corbusier Maquettes: The representation of modern architecture”, an exhibition featuring models of illustrious French-Swiss architect Le Corbusier’s iconic buildings from the private collection of RT+Q Architects; and “The Great Story of the Infinite Drawing”, an exhibition of an original work of art by French illustrator Elly Oldman.
