A Nostalgic Journey

Notebooks

Be prepared to embark on a nostalgic journey through these uniquely Penang icons — the ferry and the trishaw. In collaboration with Penang-born artist Lefty Julian, George Town Festival is releasing two notebooks featuring a ferry and a trishaw, respectively, in 2021. Join us in taking a walk down memory lane while jotting your way through these exquisite notebooks that can be found nowhere else.

Penang Ferry

The 126-year-old Penang ferry service, the oldest in the country, ceased operations on December 31, 2020. However, it remains a fond memory in the hearts of many Penangites.

Penang Trishaw

The Penang trishaw, another historical icon, is one of the oldest modes of transportation in Penang. It is now the state’s living heritage.
