What role does a woman artist play? How does contemporary women’s art influence the social environment? Are women artists’ challenges more gender-specific and how are they overcome? Hear how 3 women who “have been there, done that” in different cultures and environments participate in this lively discourse.
After five successful runs at the International Women’s Art Festival in not only Gwangju, but Moscow and Yokohama, George Town is now the sixth venue for this continuing arts exchange programme. Curated by the International Women Arts Exchange Association, this showcase brings together the works of over 50 women artists from Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan and the USA to shine a light on the role of women’s art in society. Feast your eyes on 90 pieces of paintings, photographs, sculptures, installations, and performances. Part of GTF’s ‘Week on Women’ programming.
