“A kind of restless delirium, dense with poetic effect.” – The Guardian

Award-winning physical dance theatre company Gecko presents Missing through a series of extraordinary images, jaw-dropping choreography and a tantalising multilingual vocal landscape. Since its premier in 2012, Missing has garnered international acclaim as it continues to tour around the world to tell the tale of Lily as she revisits her past, urging audiences to consider their origins and how far they have strayed from who they are.

Chekara brilliantly combines flamenco and the Andalusian music of Morocco known as al-ala, which originated in the courts of Seville, Granada and Córdoba during the Golden Age of Al-Andalus – a time when Muslims, Christians and Jews coexisted in southern Spain. Offering a natural synthesis of various musical forms, Chekara preserves the rich musical heritage of Christians, Moriscos and Gypsies. The result is a rich portrayal of the Mediterranean spirit marked by that dialogue of cultures.
